Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel
Mexico has never been so, outrageously blown up. EA brings back Rios and Salem except they return as your superiors. Instead, the player(s) will get behind the mask of either “Bravo” or “Alpha”. Besides the most generic names out there, they have no problem tearing through some cartel members.
The first noticeable difference is the lack of an “agro meter” which has become a staple of the series. Though, is technically in the game it is hidden and will be last thing one will be thinking about. The game does suffer on the visual aspect. From the buildings to the enemies everything has a “dirty sand” yellow. Yes, it is sandy in Mexico but that doesn’t mean the individuals are the same color. Plus, they tend to either not be wearing a shirt (always helpful in a firefight)or will wear clothing that matches the environment.
EA also decided to go with a serious route concerning the weapons. Being able to create some abomination of gun has been stripped along with the fun skins; again, going for realism in a game that has 2 people take down all of Northern Mexico’s cartels.
But besides the gripes this game is pure fun, especially with another player. Turning on the rampage with your bestie and totally devastating everything in your path is worth every glitch and chameleon cartel member.
